The Power of Our Belief (A Poem for Strength)

(A Poem for Strength)

I can’t believe that we’re doomed,
Even as others point the way,
Forgetting that we are powerful beyond measure,
And that it is together we forge our way home each day.

I don’t believe we can’t do this,
As we fix our world through its beautiful voices,
Its movement in dance, and the instruments of life,
That play unceasingly, giving our spirits choices.

When shadows fall and skies turn gray,
There is a flame that never dies.
A spark of hope, it whispers soft,
"You are strong, rise, and see the skies."

I don’t believe the machinations that permeate,
Our Universe can’t be overcome with Love,
That our hearts, which swell when a child laughs,
Guide us as we build from above.

I don’t believe that we are lost,
That we won’t find our way to peace.
For justice rains down like water to a stream,
And hope is created when our kindness is released.

Belief is the shelter in the rain,
It holds you firm, dispels the pain.
With each breath, you rise anew,
Belief is strength, born within you.

I don’t believe that service to one another is a handicap.
Instead, it proves to be a fantastic tool for miracles,
For when we are at service to one another,
We build bridges that lead to safe spaces, wonderful and full.

Hatred fades where Truth is spoken,
Strengthened by integrity and ethics unbroken.
In serving humankind, we transcend,
Creating miracles, wonder without end.

And what I don’t believe, I replace with beliefs that prepare us,
And we know what it takes to give to the Spirit of Love and Mercy.
Fulfilling our purpose, Freedom spreads across continents,
Community by community, a future that dispels unbelief and pity.

Here we are, shared dreams and powerful visions,
And what we believe has come true for the generations.
It is what I believe, what we hold on to, that makes a difference,
For our strength will never fail, because I believe in us.
